Thank you for dropping by! I look forward to connecting with you.

Meet Hayley
she/her

I am a Registered Social Worker with nine years of clinical experience providing psychotherapy to diverse populations. I specialize in supporting individuals experiencing challenges including: anxiety, depression, trauma, and issues related to gender and sexuality.

I completed my Bachelor of Social Work at McGill University and Masters of Social Work at the University of Toronto. I have been working in private practice full time since 2021, Prior to private practice I worked at institutions including the Canadian Mental Health Association, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and community based addiction treatment facilities.

Originally from New Westminster BC, I have spent the past 11 years enjoying big city life (by Canadian standards!) in Toronto. This past July I relocated to Victoria, BC. I am a queer, cis female settler of Ukrainian and French descent. I have lived experience supporting a loved one through gender transition, which informs my interest in working with individuals exploring their gender, along with their partners and supporters.

In my free time I enjoy pottery, going to the beach with my dear senior dog, and cycling.

My Approach

In my practice, I take a collaborative and holistic approach to therapy, tailoring my methods to meet the unique needs and goals of each person I work with. Drawing from a diverse toolkit of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I strive to empower my clients to overcome obstacles and achieve lasting change.

Central to my therapeutic philosophy is the belief that the therapeutic relationship serves as the foundation for growth and healing. I create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Through compassionate listening, empathy, and genuine connection, I work collaboratively with clients to uncover their strengths, develop coping skills, and cultivate self-awareness.

I believe the most important ingredient for successful therapy is a strong therapeutic relationship. I enjoy getting to know my clients as whole people, meaning who they are outside of the problems that are bringing them to talk to me. Clients have described me as warm, collaborative, honest and empathic. I strive to create space where my clients feel safe, seen and supported.

I am grateful to live, work and play on the unceded and illegally occupied territories of the LkLək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees and Esquimalt) Peoples and the Lək̓ʷəŋən and WSÁNEĆ Peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. As a queer person, I recognize both my inherent privilege as uninvited settler on this land, and my responsibility to resist oppression in all of its forms.
