Meet Hayley
she/her
I am a Registered Social Worker in BC and Ontario with ten years of experience practicing psychotherapy. I completed my Bachelor of Social Work at McGill University and Masters of Social Work at the University of Toronto. During my graduate degree, I completed my clinical placement at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in the outpatient concurrent disorders program. After graduating I worked at institutions including the Canadian Mental Health Association and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). I have also worked in the Toronto community as an addictions counsellor, and shelter support worker with under housed adults and families. I have been in private practice full time since 2021, and am currently an associate with the Parkdale Psychology practice in Toronto, and Layla Care in BC and Ontario.
I am a queer, cis female settler of Ukrainian and French descent. My practice is informed by my anti-oppressive, anti-racist and intersectional feminist values. I have lived experience supporting a loved one through gender transition, which informs my interest (and passion!) for working with individuals exploring their gender, along with their partners and supporters.
I am a huge animal lover, with a soft spot for elder dogs. My senior dog Sugar (pictured to the left) often joins me in office.
My Approach
Central to my therapeutic philosophy is the belief that the therapeutic relationship serves as the foundation for growth and healing. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Through compassionate listening, empathy, and genuine connection, I work collaboratively with clients to uncover their strengths, develop coping skills, and cultivate self-awareness.
I am trained in and incorporate multiple evidence based therapies in my practice including including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also draw on mindfulness and somatic approaches to support clients in creating healing mind/body connections.
I have experience supporting clients with the following presenting issues:
-Anxiety (social, general)
-Depression (low mood, difficulty with motivation)
-Low self esteem
-Relationships (navigating conflict and boundary setting)
-Questions regarding sexual orientation
-Identity & gender exploration (including gender transition)
-Substance use
-Trauma (childhood, single event)

I am a provincially regulated health professional registered to practice in the province of Ontario and British Columbia, therefore I can only work with individuals whose primary residence is in Ontario or British Columbia.
I offer sessions Monday to Thursday, including some evening hours on Wednesdays. Sessions are 50 minutes in length. I use Owl Practice, a PHIPA secure online platform to host online sessions. You can book a consult or initial appointment online here. Prior to your first appointment I will ask you to complete an online intake and informed consent form.

Session fees may be partially or fully covered by private insurance or work benefits. Please confirm this with your insurance provider before your session. For those without insurance, as a Registered Social Worker my services can be claimed on your income tax return as as medical expenses. In accordance with the Medical Expense Tax Credit (METC) the Government of Canada will reimburse recipients of clinical services at the prescribed rate.

GET IN TOUCH
I am grateful to live, work and play on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. I recognize both my inherent privilege as uninvited settler on this land, and my responsibility to resist oppression in all of its forms.
